What is it?

Satliva Mango Rosemary moisturizer deeply hydrates and nourishes skin cells and clears toxins stored in the skin cells. It’s a unique blend of Indian Hemp Seed Oil, Mango Butter and Rosemary Essential Oil which are loaded with amino acids, minerals, and vitamins required for healthy, glowing skin.

Rosemary essential oil, with its anti-inflammatory and astringent properties keeps your acne at bay. The rich anti-oxidants in Indian Hemp Seed Oil and Mango Butter help by clearing clogged pores and dead skin cells while protecting the skin from harsh pollutants and sun damage. The nutrient-rich cream deeply cleanses skin cells, effectively removes and diminishes acne, marks, scars, and pigmentation. With an abundance of vitamins A, C, and E, and Omega-3, it helps the facial skin to recover faster, leaving behind clear, soft and glowing skin.

Ingredients list Analysis:

I think the complete ingredients list is missing. They claim to contain zero chemicals, but only the key ingredients are mentioned. Other components like preservatives and emulsifiers seem to be missing.

Good ones: Hemp oil, Mango Butter, Moringa, Beeswax, Carrot seed oil, Tea Tree oil and Rosemary Essential oil

Not so good ones: Not sure if they have any undesirable ingredients in their formulation.

Price: INR 450 for 20 gm and INR 610 for 40 gm

Shelf Life: Use within 6 months of purchase.

Availability: Available at satliva.com and Amazon.in . Click here to view this product in their website.

My experience with the product:

Packaging: The 20 gms and 40 gms variants come in a small aluminum tub packaging. They are spill-proof and small enough to be carried conveniently. Kudos to them for using aluminum packaging instead of plastic. Infact, all of their product packagings are environment-friendly!

Texture: Has a thick, buttery texture. Actually, it is more like ghee than butter; it melts slightly when warmed between the fingers before applying. Feels more like a face butter than like a face cream.

Color & Fragrance: Has a pale yellow color. It has a sharp rosemary essential oil smell to bother sensitive noses. The fragrance is not very pleasing, but I am glad it doesn’t have any artificial fragrances.

Performance: This heavy duty moisturizer is non-greasy but oily. Will immediately take care of dry patches. Keeps skin healthy and moisturized but is extremely slow to work on blemishes and marks. It did not break me out but it doesn’t control new acne either.

My Thoughts:

Since last year, I am more into organic, natural and clean skincare and this is what prompted me to try Satliva products. A little goes a long way with this face cream and the shelf life is just six months. So, unless you are consistent in skincare, you won’t be able to finish the product. Since I got bought 2 tubs, I gave one to my friend who has normal to dry skin.

Though the product is recommended for oily skin in their website, I suggest oily skinned beauties to skip this product unless you need a heavy duty night cream. I would strictly not use it during day as it immediately renders the skin oily. You also need to take time in massaging the cream onto skin, so that it melts and sinks in. The product doesn’t fulfill its tall claims, so roaming out with oily skin after applying the product is not worth it. But, it does make your skin healthy-looking by nourishing it. But, the claims about removing acne marks, diminishing blemishes, protecting skin from damage and controlling oil are not 100% true. There are many products which are more effective than this face cream in working on blemishes. This means that the product is not special other than being all natural and environment-friendly.

I use the face cream in my night skincare routine after applying a light facial oil. Yes, you read that right! I apply it after a facial oil because, the texture of my facial oil is lighter than this heavy cream. I am not a fan of this cream, so to finish the tub, I am taking the help of my mom who has dry skin. It gives an oily look on her too, but she doesn’t mind that, as it nourishes her skin. She powders her face to fix the oiliness.

Now, remember I told that I gave the other tub to my friend with normal to dry skin? She really likes the cream! She uses the Lakme 9 to 5 weightless mousse after this moisturiser and she says that the mousse fixes the oily look, and the moisturizer gives a glow to the mousse, which otherwise gives a flat, matte look. This is a classic example of why you shouldn’t blindly trust bloggers because everyone’s skin is different, and a product you hate, might be liked by another. Although reviews by bloggers act as a guide, you should keep your skin type, concerns, likes and dislikes in mind before choosing a product, because no one knows your skin better than you. If you have dry skin, I guess you might like this moisturizer. But be sure to perform a patch test first, as this contains essential oils.

Truth Vs. Claims:

Claims Truth
Deeply hydrates and nourishes skin cells Yes
Clears toxins and unclogs pores Not sure
Diminishes acne, marks, scars, and pigmentation Yes, but you can see results only slowly after prolonged usage.
Oil balance No
Regenerates skin cells faster. Gives clear, soft and radiant skin Can’t comment on regeneration. My skin became soft, but not clear and radiant.

Cold-pressed & freshly made Yes

My likes about the product:

  • Goodness of the natural ingredients
  • Environment-friendly packaging
  • Cold-pressed & freshly made
  • No artificial fragrances or color
  • Satliva brand values

My dislikes about the product:

  • Leaves the skin oily immediately after application
  • Extremely slow to work on blemishes and marks
  • Does not fulfill the claims
  • Short shelf-life, but it doesn’t bother me as the product formulation is natural
  • Complete ingredients list has not been disclosed

My Rating: 3/5

Do I recommend this? Not meant for oily skin. Dry skin people can give this a try.

Will I repurchase this? No, this moisturizer disappointed me. But I would certainly like to try other products from the brand.

In a nutshell: Thick moisturizer for skin that needs nourishment. Love the natural ingredients, packaging and the brand values. If you want a product to work on acnes and blemish marks, better products are available in the market.
